Yao is a PhD candidate from the Rehabilitation Neuroscience Lab. Prior to her PhD training with Dr. Zehr, Yao completed her BSc in Bioengineering from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in China and her MSc in Kinesiology from Pennsylvania State University in the States.
Yao’s research interests include the cross-education effects in strength training after stroke as well as the modulatory effects of sensory input on movement control.
As a typical food lover, Yao enjoys trying different cuisines as well as finding the best food in town. She also enjoys running, hiking and practicing martial arts.
